Buy a pair of these headphones.

Or you could get these, just to one-up me.

I’ve had mine for about two weeks now, and I hate listening to music with anything else. You will not want to use your iPod with these; I tried that already. They will sound “alright” on an iPod, but with a significant loss of bass response. In short, portable devices do not have the power necessary to drive these headphones. Hook them up to your computer (with a decent sound card, like the Creative Audigy 2 ZS) or your home theater system, and you will be blown away. They are also super comfortable and light. I’ve watched several movies with them and completely forgot that they were on my head.

Thus ends my shameless plug for Sennheiser.

4 days until Script Frenzy starts. Geoff and I are ready. Or at least I think we are ready. Notice the nifty progress bar at the bottom of the sidebar. Notice it! I cannot wait to make that thing move a little bit. I think I might enjoy updating the progress bar more than I’ll enjoy writing the screenplay itself. Yes, I’m weird like that.

I Have Stockholm Syndrome

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Otherwise known as beaten housewife syndrome. If you don’t know what it is look it up. I feel like I have just left an abusive relationship. I find myself sitting down at my computer and opening Microsoft Word in preparation to write something; only to close it moments later scolding myself. I don’t have to write anything, I am free to do whatever I want. But part of myself would rather be writing something than playing video games, or surfing the web. Last month was challenging, frightening, frustrating and at times, a lot of fun.

I may need therapy.

In June I am collaborating on a screenplay.

Also, I have successfully upgraded to WordPress 2.0.5.  For those that care, version 2.0.5 apparently does not like php 5.2.0 (or at least it doesn’t on this server). So I am using php 4.4.4 until something changes to make it work on version 5.2.0.

And I’m not talking about Alcoholics Anonymous either. Affirmative Action is the topic of discussion ranting today. As you may or may not know, I’m not a very political person. I could give a damn about most politicians and their agendas. Every once in a while however, some issues demand my attention. You should also know that I am not racist. As I put it, “I hate equally,” or, “I hate on a personal basis.” Basically, if you give me a reason to NOT like you, then I’ll take it. Other than that, I will treat anyone regardless of age, race, religion, etc the same as long as they do the same for me. Granted I don’t know a hell of a lot about Affirmative Action but I do know that fighting discrimination with discrimination is not the correct thing to do. People are people, and they should be hired into jobs and accepted into schools as individuals that are qualified for the position. Not because the school or employer has a quota to meet. How is someone getting a free ride to a school, because they have a different skin color NOT discrimination? Don’t tell me that they don’t have a lot of money….I don’t have a lot of money, my parents don’t have a lot of money, hardly anyone in my family has a lot of money. Now, it’s fine with me if a school decides that they would like to help people out that are in some sort of financial crisis. But they should do so on an individual basis, not by merely looking at the color of the persons skin. Michigan has a proposal that will be voted on in November that could possibly do away with Affirmative Action. I hope and pray that it passes.

Are my opinions wrong? Do they need to be clarified? Feel free to let me know.

I hate clothing.

While the reasons behind my hatred are laid out here, the underlying mental issues that bring such reasons forward remains unknown. Almost everyone I know dresses nice (usually), and has multiple articles of clothing that can be used in any given situation. My own brother (well…one of the 3) I’ve accused of being a “metro” because his closet would probably rival his girlfriend’s; not to mention his shoe selection. If I was able to, I would wear the same clothing every day; provided that it didn’t get worn out or stinky. Maybe I’d change it up once a month or quarter, but I wouldn’t deviate much. I would wear a pair of jeans, or jean-shorts and a t-shirt of my choosing, until I felt the need for something different. Like the background picture on my computer; I change it when I feel like it. The background doesn’t represent my computer in the slightest. A shallow depth-of-field, macro picture of blades of grass, does not give anyone the slightest clue as to what my computer contains, or is capable of, nor does it reflect on it’s current mood or wants and desires.

In my possession (this is a rough estimate, since counting such objects would be beneath me) I have a dozen t-shirts, two pairs of jeans, one khaki short, three cotton shorts (for sleeping and lounging), several articles of undergarments and socks, five button-up/down (depending upon your preference) dress shirts, two pairs of dress shoes, one pair of street shoes, and three new pairs of khaki pants. The last articles of clothing being the inspiration for this entry. Before the three, there was but one lonely pair of very comfortable and well fitting khaki pants.

And it was that this pair of khakis were the sole covering of my legs while I was at work. (more…)
